We work with artists, practitioners and partners to create exhibitions, workshops and multisensory experiences that invite people to explore, express themselves and connect with others. We value the distinct perspectives and lived experiences that each person brings.
Our current focus is on artistic and cultural heritage: the skills, stories and ways of making passed between generations. Working alongside the people who carry these traditions, we explore how inherited practices can evolve through contemporary expression, reach new audiences and remain meaningful in everyday life.
We believe art connects us to ourselves, to one another and to what we inherit. Through making, observing and exchanging ideas, we create space for reflection and discovery, linking art, wellbeing and the way we live.

AAurum welcomes people curious about art, culture and creative expression, from those discovering a craft for the first time to artists and makers exploring new directions in their practice.
We also work with communities, cultural organisations and businesses interested in sharing inherited skills and stories, supporting their continued practice and exploring contemporary interpretations through collaboration.

Aurum began with a moment that stayed with its founder, Edna Yau: watching a dancer create a painting through improvised movement, responding to sound and space. The performance sparked her curiosity about how different art forms and sensory experiences could help people express themselves.
That curiosity became the foundation of Aurum. Through collaborations with artists and practitioners, Edna set out to create opportunities for people to encounter art, explore their own creativity and connect with one another.

藝術是人生真善美的匯聚,反映對生命情意的一種闡釋,透過不斷追求完美和卓越,人生會因藝術而豐盛。畫家用色彩和水一般的藝術語言,使我們緊張而忙碌的生活得到抒緩和寧靜,撫慰我們的心靈,增添生活美感和情趣。若將志趣放在藝術生活上,那種快感是無窮無盡的,大家欣賞藝術作品時,自會感受到一種清新逸氣,淡定從容而遠於俗。
每個人都有一顆與生俱來的初心,這顆初心就是對藝術嚮往的文心,宿心。也許它一直都被塵封或被生活上的各種事物所掩藏而無法顯露,但只要有合適的環境和土壤,它便會發芽生長,開花結果。
若問藝術是什麼,或者什麼是藝術?其實,藝術就是專注,只要我們全心投入,不離不棄,生活就會給我們一個擁抱。即使是隔着一道河,欲濟無舟楫,我們腳踏蓮花,不須理會何時得到彼岸。

According to the way of art, no matter how long an artist has been cultivating themselves, the realm they can attain depends on whether or not they have the necessary unpretentiousness and perceptiveness to relate to and to understand an object or a phenomenon. It is by embracing simplicity and sincerity and by practising the stillness of deep waters that an artist is able to grasp the essences of art as well as life.
Art is about the integration of the true, the good and the beautiful in life and about the interpretation of ideas and emotions inspired by life. In turn, life will be enriched by art when perfection and excellence are perpetually sought and pursued. Using colours and an artistic language that is comparable to water, painters engender in the viewers peace despite their stressful routines, solace for their heart and soul, and beauty and delights in their otherwise humdrum existence. Should you care to strive for an artistic life, the joy that ensues is infinite. Every time you appreciate a work of art, you will feel a refreshing ease and placidity swell in you, liberating you from mundanity.
All of us are born with an initial resolve—a literary and innate resolve that draws us to art. Although possibly gathering dust or buried beneath all sorts of quotidian concerns since long, it will sprout and grow to fruition once the soil and conditions are right.
What is art and art is what, you may ask. In a nutshell, art consists in dedication. If only we commit ourselves to it with all our heart, we will find ourselves in life’s loving arms. Never mind when we can reach the other shore even though there is no means of crossing the river. It suffices so long as we maintain our purity by riding on the lotus flower.

From the very first moment Edna Yau spoke to me about Aurum, I thought that it was one of the most ambitious and exciting projects I had ever come across. A visionary lady wanted to create an ethical creative start-up in Hong Kong, the heart of Asia.
It is a fact that the last few years have seen a surge of social enterprises. Large and small companies have turned ethical and are improving their communities. However, while most of them turned ethical later in life, Aurum was born ethical. Those who have had the pleasure to meet the founder know that the genesis of Aurum coincides with Edna’s wish to be useful. She has lived to the full, learnt a lot and has now created Aurum with the main goal of passing on her knowledge.
Aurum was conceived to be helpful. Its core business values are social values.
