Khing Barnett
/ Textile Designer
Thai Textile Designer Khing Barnett makes a splash in the fashion world at the beginning of her textile journey. In 2019, Khing Barnett graduated at Central Saint Martins with a Textile Design degree (BA), but her achievements leading up to her graduation are crucial to shaping her path as a designer. In 2017, Barnett produced and developed prints for Jim Thompson Silk Company for a limited edition bag and Autumn/Winter menswear collection in 2017. In 2018, Barnett’s design print concept was chosen to improve Moynat’s M logo as part of the LVMH luxury bags. Barnett’s colourful prints are often met with geometric patterns and sharp colour contrasts, as her surroundings with a bias towards the influence of nature often create the varying patterns in her hand-made and digital prints. Khing Barnett’s commercial success also expands into a wider spectrum into the fashion collection including Amanda Kelly Studio, Bangkok’s Kustom Karpets, and Raya Curated Collections.
For AURUM’s collaboration, Khing Barnett displays her flair for elements from the tropics, with colourful graphic prints of wildlife and flora, set to behold a dreamlike depiction of the many forest wonders.
