Tracy Lam

/ Professional Dancer

Local artist Tracy Lam grew up in Hong Kong. Like most local children, her first exposure to art comes from museum visits. When her dancing dream and reality clashes, she continued on her studies in university while keeping her passion on the side - taking community dance classes for basic dancing techniques. Her fondness in musicals and jazz dance steer Tracy Lam into her major in contemporary dance when she got accepted to study at the APA. At 23 years old, Lam supports her dancing dream by teaching dance classes while remaining full attendance at the APA. Despite her physical and financial limitations, Tracy Lam continues to pursue the opportunity to collaborate with AURUM. Her quest to seek, explore, and reinterpret her authentic self into dance movements will be Tracy Lam’s biggest challenge to date, but she has learned to master criticism at a young age. Such exploration and understanding may take an extended period of time, but Tracy Lam’s reimagined self and fluid movements will allow the audience to get to know her better by feeling her mood through a continuous onslaught of dances. Knowing herself is all but the beginning, as Tracy Lam aims to continue teaching as her main career. Lam has always been proactive in hearing her voice from deep down within herself, and her collaboration project with AURUM is set to facilitate the connection from within the audience.
